Service

Cloud & DevOps

Infrastructure, pipelines and observability that make releasing software unremarkable.

What this service is

DevOps here means the automation and infrastructure around an application: how it is built, tested, deployed, configured per environment, and observed once running. The measurable outcome is that a change can go to production safely, on an ordinary afternoon, without a coordinated event.

The problem

What usually brings people here

Releases are events

Deployment is manual, takes hours and happens out of office time because it is risky.

Environments differ

It works in staging and fails in production, because the two were configured by hand at different times.

Nobody notices failures first

Customers report outages before monitoring does, because there is no meaningful alerting.

Unpredictable cloud spend

The bill grows and nobody can attribute it to anything specific.

Capabilities

What we do

  • CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
  • Containerisation with Docker
  • Container orchestration and Kubernetes manifests
  • Infrastructure configuration and environment parity
  • Azure and cloud hosting setup
  • Monitoring, logging and alerting
  • Secrets and configuration management
  • Backup, recovery and cost review

Use cases

Typical engagements

First real pipeline

A team deploying by hand moved onto automated build, test and release with environment promotion.

Containerising an existing application

Packaging an app so it runs identically across local, staging and production.

Observability retrofit

Logging, metrics and alerting added to a system currently running blind.

Delivery

How the work runs

  1. 01

    Discovery & requirements

We map how the work actually flows today — the systems, the spreadsheets, the manual handoffs — and agree what success looks like in measurable terms.

  2. 02

    Solution architecture

Data model, service boundaries, integration points and hosting. You get the shape of the system before anyone writes production code.

  3. 03

    UX & technical design

Screens and flows for the people who will use it daily, reviewed against the architecture so the design is buildable as drawn.

  4. 04

    Development & integration

Built in increments you can see and use. Integrations are wired early, because that is where most projects actually go wrong.

  5. 05

    Testing & quality assurance

Automated tests around the logic that matters, plus migration rehearsals against real data shapes before anything goes near production.

  6. 06

    Deployment & onboarding

Release pipeline, environment configuration, data migration and training for the teams who have to live with the system.

  7. 07

    Support & continuous improvement

Monitoring, fixes and the next increment. Software that is used changes; the engagement allows for that.

Before you commit

What to weigh up

Match the infrastructure to the team that has to operate it. Kubernetes is the right answer far less often than it is chosen; a container service or static hosting is frequently sufficient and much cheaper to run. Set up alerting at the same time as deployment, not after the first incident.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do we need Kubernetes?
Usually not. It earns its operational cost at meaningful scale or with many services. Below that, a managed container service or static hosting does the job with a fraction of the complexity.
Can you work with our existing cloud account?
Yes. We work in your account, under your billing and access control, so there is no dependency on us holding the infrastructure.
How long does a CI/CD setup take?
A working build-test-deploy pipeline for a single application is typically days. Multi-service estates with compliance requirements take longer, mostly in access control and environment design.
What about security?
Secrets kept out of source and injected at deploy time, least-privilege access, dependency scanning in the pipeline, and TLS and security headers as defaults rather than additions.
